KREMER-GRINDENKO-BASHMET-ROSTROPOVICH
AND THE NEWPHILHARMONIC QUARTET IN ONE CONCERT
"The Four-Stars Quartet" Kremer-Grindenko-Bashmet-Rostropovich
ruptured the audience only by its appearance.
The public enthusiasm was not dispersed by their
performance of Shostakovitch's Second Quartet.
Quite the opposite was The New Philharmonic
Quartet, which performed the Fourth Quartet.
There interpretation was like a whispering sermon,
and the hall stopped breathing not to miss a
note of classical quartet sound: One could not
help thinking of a stars' show, where The New
Philharmonic Quartet's star shined even brighter."

AUDIENCE FASCINATED BY ROMANTICISM
The Stravinsky Quartet from St. Petersburg,
Russia played a concert in the large hall of
Kurashiki Geibunkan (Japan) on 4th April 2000:
The Eighth Quartet by Shostakovich, which is
famous as his autobiographic work, was amazingly
forceful and breathingly passionate. Schumann's
Piano Quintet in E flat major with the excellent
pianist Akiko Nagata left deep impression of
brilliance and romantic lyricism.
"Kurashiki
News" 7 April 2000, Japan
Celebrating its 10th anniversary,
the Stravinsky Quartet demonstrated again the
high level of musicianship together with refined
taste and perfect nuances. The pianist Polina
Osetinskaya made a wonderful match to their
ensemble.
